A fairly large group of members met and visited the zoo at Drayton Manor. For many of us it was a ‘first’, some had been many years earlier…and some had worked there!
Nostalgia kicked in for some, awe and wonder for others and all were impressed with what we saw and heard about the possible developments. The zoo was much larger than some of expected and we noted how well kept the animals were.
We met with two keepers we knew, Keith and Carol who spent a little time showing us things and explaining future plans. The weather was a little damp, but the sun came out for the last hour and we all left with most favourable impressions of Drayton Manor Zoo.
Thanks to Teresa in particular for the slick organisation.
