tza launched a new website, www.tza.org.uk, at the start of March 2013. The site is easy to navigate and has a clean, modern look. At the same time tza starting a Twitter Account, called @tza_uk, and regular users will see that the web site supports the Twitter account and vica versa.
The main contents of the regularly updated website are: news about upcoming tza events, reports about tza events, news about other tza related activity such as the Mary Brancker Memorial Lecture, and updates about tza related activity and ‘friends’ of tza. For example – we have posted news about our work at Twycross Zoo and we have posted follow up information provided by previous speakers.
You can subscribe to the tza.org.uk website – using the Subscribe box on any page on the site – and have all the latest articles delivered straight to your inbox.
Our Twitter account tweets on a regular basis – at least on a daily basis – and tries to highlight upbeat conservation stories, ‘good news’ wildlife stories and entertaining and interesting wildlife facts. For example, in the last seven days we have tweeted about bonobos, hedgehog friendly gardening tips, frogs with claws and insects that only appear once every seventeen years.
83 unique people visited the website in the last month – 47 of whom are returning visits and 36 visiting us for the first time. The average visitor looks at 4 pages before leaving the site – spending 2½ minutes with us before heading off elsewhere.
Your dedicated team of web geeks enjoy their work keeping the web site and twitter feed up to date and active – please keep popping along to see what they are up to.
